Editor's review
This is a XML editor and development environment.
Altova XMLSpy 2014 is a XML editor for modeling, editing, transforming, and debugging XML-related technologies. The tool offers a graphical schema designer, a code generator, file converters, debuggers, profilers, full database integration, support for XSLT, XPath, XQuery, WSDL, SOAP, XBRL, JSON, and Office Open XML (OOXML) , plus Visual Studio and Eclipse integration, and others. The editor makes working with XML simple by offering abstractions that hide the complexities of XML. The variety of edit views and options make it easier to work in the environment. You are able to work with the editor in a text based mode or a graphical user mode depending on what is most convenient to you. XMLSpy provides intelligent XML editing guidance as you type. Debug is possible quickly. Code validation to industry standards is possible. This tool also has an array of tool for XBRL, XSL, Schema, etc.
XBRL Validator can validate both XBRL taxonomies and XBRL instance files. It will ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting. A Taxonomy Wizard is available for walking through standard XBRL taxonomies. XSL tools include XSL and XQuery editors.
XPath Analyzer makes it easy to generate or edit XPath expressions. XSLT and XQuery debuggers and profilers help debug easily. Schema tools help complete schema development in XMLSpy and includes a DTD editor, graphical XML Schema editor, and schema generation and conversion wizards. You would be able to auto-generate a schema from an XML instance or a relational database structure. Developed code can be easily distributed without worrying about royalties. This is a very good development aid.
